Prayer for the Pope

Great Papal visit links: great info here. Also great for kids here!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA BENEDICT!!!

 Prayer for Pope Benedict XVI:
Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to Your shepherd, the Pope, a spirit of courage and right judgement, a spirit of knowledge and love.

By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, build Your church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Also pray for his April Intentions:

General- That even in difficult and complex situations of present-day society, Christians may never tire of proclaiming with their lives Christ’s resurrection, the source of hope and peace.

Mission-That future priests in young Churches may be ever more seriously formed culturally and spiritually in order to evangelize their respective countries and the whole world.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations

Let us all pray together for Voctations today. I found this link with many prayers for Vocations…go check it out :)

Parents Prayer for Vocations
Gracious and loving God
you have blessed us with the priviledge of becoming Parents.
We ask that you provide us with all that we need
in accepting this awesome responsibility.

We pray that we will be open to your spirit
who is our source of strength
as we witness to our children
your love for each of them and your desire for them
to be happy and to live a full life.

We ask your help
so we may guide and encourage our children
to believe that they each have a special calling
and to use their gifts and talents for others.

We pray, Heavenly Father,
that our children will discover
and respond enthusiastically to your desire for them
whether it be to the vocation of single, married,
ordained or consecrated life.

We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus
through the grace of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Update and prayers for a pregnant Mother

An email was sent out on 4/12 regarding the update and prayers for a members sister-in-law who is pregnant.   Keep it up and ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for her. Don’t forget St.Joseph, he was chosen to protect Mary. With his help Mary was safe through out her pregnancy.  St. Joseph & Mother Mary, Pray for this young mother and her baby!

Here is the update:

I wanted to give you an update on my sister-in-law.  She is now 27 weeks pregnant and will remain on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy.  I talked to her today and she thankfully had a very uneventful week.  Please continue to pray for her.  Her ultimate goal is to carry the baby for ten more weeks.  Thank you for all of your prayers, they are working!

Thanks for all your prayers! God Bless!

Michele

Please pray for 8 year old Julia

Email sent out regarding this request on 4/9 and 4/10

Please pray for Julie ’s cousin Erin and her 8 year old daughter Julia. Julia got sick on Saturday and was rushed to the Children’s Hospital , three hours from her home. They found lesions on her brain and are in the process of running many tests to figure out what has caused them. Erin is a single mom and has three other children at home who are staying with various family members. She is extremely worried about Julia’s condition and the unknown. She also greatly misses the other kids and is worried about being away for an extended period of time. Please pray for their family.

Please pray for this family!St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of our daughter and ask him to restore our child to health if such be his holy will. This favor, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers. Amen.

UPDATE 4/24

She was released from the hospital and is at home regaining strength and going to school part time. They think she has a condition called ADEM. It is a disease of the brain than can follow a viral infection that causes lesions in the brain and spinal cord. It could have been a virus she may not have even known she had.
The symptoms are similar to an adult with MS. If it is post viral, it
usually resolves itself over time. They are hoping for a full recovery,
but she is still experiencing some physical and neurological effects.
They are hoping to go to Memphis in the next few weeks for a second
opinion. Thank you all so much for your prayers.

Please keep praying for her, but also offer a prayer of thanksgiving that the outcome looks positive! All Glory and Honor be given to our Lord Jesus Christ! Thanks be to God!! Thank you St. Gerard for your prayers!
